Peter V. Mancuso
Republican Candidate for Morris Township Committee
Mr. Mancuso has a long history of service to Morris Township. He previously served on the Morris Township Committee between 1979 - 1987, and as Mayor from 1982 - 1983 and again in 1987. He also served as the Chairman of the Finance Committee and as Police Commissioner, and led Morris Township's Mount Laurel negotiating team.
Mr. Mancuso has also been very active with numerous civic organizations. He has served as a Trustee and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the County College of Morris. He has also served on the Boards of Trustees of the College of Saint Elizabeth, Morristown Memorial Hospital, the Colonial Symphony, the Community Theatre and the Morris Museum, where he also served as Chairman. For sixteen years, he served as Chairman of the Morris Township Day Carnival, and he also led the 250th Anniversary Celebration of Morris Township in 1990.
Mr. Mancuso has also served as Chairman of the Fundraising Committees for both the Museum of Early Trades & Crafts and the Market Street Mission; as a Board member of the New Community Corporation Foundation; and as a Trustee of the Madison YMCA. He was also the Co-Founder of the Morristown Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association; a Director of the Fathers Club of Newark Academy; and a Director of Morristown American Little League.
In recognition of his community service, Mr. Mancuso has been honored by the College of Saint Elizabeth, the New Jersey Cancer Society, the Morris County Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Morristown Area JayCees, the American Red Cross of Morris County, Opera at Florham, and the Morris County Organizations for Hispanic Affairs.
Mr. Mancuso's professional career spanned forty-seven years in the securities business, most notably at the New York Stock Exchange where he was a Specialist Member assigned to make markets in numerous listed securities. He also served as a Governor of the NYSE and was a member of several Exchange committees. He is a noted financial commentator on CNNfn, CNBC, PBS and ABC Radio.
Mr. Mancuso and his family have resided in Morris Township for forty-three years.
